A LOVE LETTER TO SUMMER -- MEG & JOE'S LIFE UPDATE

As the boys are going back to school and Summer is officially winding down, I thought it would be fun to give y'all a little life update!

This summer has been crazier then we ever thought possible. It's even crazier to think that the last time I wrote a life update we were just beginning the filming process for what I FINALLY can tell you guys is our show coming in 2022 -- RENOVATION GOLDMINE on HGTV!!!!! We didn't think we would be able to announce the name and network for a while, so when I got the call that we would be able to announce the show this soon it was seriously one of the most amazing moments.

Time flies when you're having fun, and I can't believe that we are already over halfway done with the filming process of Renovation Goldmine! So far we've completed seven of the 16 houses on the show. If I'm being honest, it has been a ton of work - mostly work that I haven't been able to see coming. Lots of late nights, what seems like hundreds of calls a day, etc., but with that has also come lot's of Joe's puns after a tough day, lots of high fives when we finally find lighting with a good lead time and overall so many more positives than negatives. Our crew is AMAZING and we always manage to have so much fun -- even on the 12 hour shoot days! The store is better than ever and we have so many other exciting things in the works besides the show. Right now we're actually working on a schedule to make sure we get tons of tutorials and DIY tips out there for y'all!

The boys had an absolute blast this summer -- between Yaha taking them a ton of fun places, all the water balloon fights that I didn't know I was apart of until it was happening and the ice cream dates they had with Mimi whenever Joe and I had to film late, I would say those boys are pretty lucky to have such amazing people around them (& we're so blessed to have an amazing support system -- it takes a village)! Having my parents right down the street this summer has been amazing. We have had so many fun dinners on the weekend with my sister, Katie, and the rest of the fam, and with everything going on during the week it's just so nice to be around family during the overwhelming moments.

Other than that, life has been a blessing. I know I've probably said this a million times, but Joe and I are just so grateful to have such amazing people behind us ready to come along for the ride we're about to embark on. There are going to be a ton of challenges and obstacles along the way, but there will be even more opportunities for growth, laughs and amazing things to come along the way too. I'm just excited to be present and share it with you all!
